Heat Stress Costs Pork Producers Millions Every Year

High temperatures reduce feed intake, reproductive performance, and daily gain. Conventional barn cooling is expensive, energy-hungry, and impossible to target where it counts.

Farrowing Rooms

Sows need to stay cool while piglets need warmth. Whole-room cooling forces a losing compromise. Targeted radiant cooling over each sow solves this directly.

Gestation Barns

High stocking density makes uniform cooling difficult and wasteful. Individual radiant panels cool animals exactly where they rest — no overcooling the whole building.

Energy & Infrastructure

Evaporative and compressor-based systems are expensive to install and run. At 85W per panel, our system runs off solar PV — no new electrical infrastructure needed.

Radiant Cooling — Targeted, Low-Power, Proven

Instead of cooling the air, we place a chilled surface directly above the animal. The panel absorbs radiant heat from the sow's body — the same physics that makes shade feel cool, working 24/7.

Our summer 2025 pilot demonstrated meaningful reductions in heat load on individual sows. Two configurations serve different barn layouts.

Farrowing — Crate-Level Cooling

One panel per crate, hung directly above the sow. Cools the animal while the piglet zone stays warm. No modifications to existing crates.

Gestation — Covered Cooling Stations

Canopy-style stations with radiant panels let sows self-select cooling as needed. Can integrate lighting and optional heating for year-round use.
